When you hear the phrase, “Eat Fresh,” what do you think of? When you hear the phrase, “Taste the Rainbow,” what comes to mind? What about, “Just Do It?” These phrases are the way Subway, Skittles, and Nike have branded themselves. When you and I hear these phrases, we cannot help but think of brand that these phrases signify. They have become one of the same.
My question for you to consider this weekend is: What is the brand of Christianity? What is the phrase, what is the foundational truth, what are the headlines of Christianity? The book of Acts is full of the headlines, but yet somehow it seems that we as Christians living in 2018 have forgotten. It seems we only remember it one weekend a year.
As we wrap up our sermon series, “Ready, Set, Go” this weekend we are going to be equipped with the original brand slogan of Christianity. My hope is that as we are equipped that we will go as Jesus has told us to share the headlines of our faith in Jesus.
We have unfinished work to do in telling the world about the finished work of Jesus not just with our actions, but also with our words.
“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Romans 10:14-15
