Recently my wife and I watched a movie that we are going to be viewing here at Trinity on Wednesday, August 14 called Indivisible. This is a movie about marriage. It is a movie that shows the nature of a marriage that goes through trials yet remains indivisible. Indivisible is a word that we use to describe something that is unable to be divided or separated. Sad to say the reality that you and I know way too well is that this is not a word we associate with marriage, even though we hear pastors say, “What God has brought together, let no man separate.”
C.S. Lewis, a great Christian thinker, said, "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he does not exist.” Jesus taught us and showed us that he does exist. He said the Devil has come to seek and to divide us. Jesus said, “He masquerades as the angel of light.” My hope this weekend in worship is to uncover five of his most potent strategies to divide not only marriages, but also us.
Jesus’ desire is for us to be one with one another, so may His truth continue to write our story as we get behind the scenes.
