This weekend we begin a new preaching series focused on the heart. A healthy, beautiful heart that reflects the love and care of the living God. Such a heart is God’s gift and desire for you and me.
A sacrificial and servant heart is shown on the right side of the tree—alive and lush. Notice the contrast in the image as selfishness is depicted on the left side of the tree that is dead and lifeless.
This Mother’s Day weekend we are giving attention to the transformation that God works in the heart of a parent—from selfish to sacrificial. Such a heart is also found in our Savior Jesus who said:
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served,
but to serve, and give His life as a ransom for many.
- Mark 10:45
O Lord, guard our hearts so that we may be vibrantly alive with Your love. Transform us to readily serve and sacrifice for the sake of others.
And thank you for our mothers and all godly women who have helped us know and rely on Your great love for us!!
