This past week we as a Christian Community have been hit hard as one of our families is now mourning the death of a dad and a husband. As we seek to understand I can’t help but be reminded that we are a community, a people of faith, hope, and love. This is what we are marked with. In the storms of life Jesus asks this question, “Where is your faith, where is your hope, and where is your love?”
Our faith is in You, Jesus. You are the One who walks on water in the storm and calls us to do the same. You are the One who overcame sin, death, and devil when you rose from the dead so that we KNOW you are stronger. As people of faith we pray for those who are hurting, to the One who can and will comfort. In the midst of the darkness as His children we can’t help but see the light of hope, that beckons us to keep moving forward. We KNOW that we will see those who have gone before us. That it is never goodbye, it is only until we meet again. As people of Hope we know our loved ones are not lost to us, we know where they are and with Whom they are with. When trouble surrounds us we surround each other with love. A love that knows no bounds, a deep love that cries, a love that holds on, a love that encourages, and a love that is there. A love that does the simple things for others, like drop off a meal or send a card. May we continue to be a community of faith, hope, and love.
